Glover Garden area is a collection of western style houses and building which surrounds the house of Thomas Blake Glover, a Scottish entrepreneur.

Glover supported and worked on shipbuilding, arms dealing, coal and mining island of Gunkanjima. He was awarded the Second Class Order of the Rising Sun eventually.

The view from the Glover Garden covers the Nagasaki Bay as well as the entire city. In fact, Puccini’s opera Madame Butterfly is believed to be inspired by the houses at Glover Garden.
