Kiyomizudera, a UNESCO world heritage site, is one of the most notable temples of Japan that was constructed in the year 780 in the hills of Kyoto near the Otawa Waterfall.
Kiyomizudera can be literally translated as “Pure Water Temple” deriving from the pure waters of the Waterfall. The site is well known for the wooden stage, 13 meters above the hillside. From this stage, the tourists can have a good view of cherry and maple trees as well as the city of Kyoto.
