Korakuen is a main visitor’s site in Okayama prefecture constructed in 1687.
It is a spacious and beautiful garden right next to the Okayama Castle.
At the time, the public were not permitted to enter at any time as the garden entertained only the ruling families and welcomed important guests. The garden incorporates a large pond, a hill, walking paths and lawns
Moreover, trees of plum, cherry and maple as well as fields of tea and rice add colors to the garden.
