Odaiba is a young district of Tokyo, built on Tokyo Bay. It is accessible by Rainbow Bridge, which offers a magnificent panorama of Tokyo and Tokyo Bay. Daiba, literally means “fort”, 11 artificial islands were built in the late Edo period to protect the city against attacks from the sea. In the 1990’s, it became one of the most interesting tourist spots of Tokyo. There are several shopping malls, Fuji Television building, National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, exhibition complex Toyota MegaWeb and others.
