Todai-ji was constructed in the year 752 as the head temple of all Buddhist temples in Japan. The main hall, the Daibutsu-den (Big Buddha Hall) is considered the largest wooden buiding in the world, housing Japan’s largest bronze statue of Buddha (Daibutsu), sitting at 15 meters tall.
You may be happy to encounter deers from the Nara Park nearby, sniffing up for some snacks. Grab a pack of crackers (Shika Senbei) and feed the deers.
