In the midst of the beautiful mountains, there is a temple called Yamadera which provides a beautiful scenery.
Yamadera can be literally translated as the temple of mountains in Japanese.
Yamadera was built in 860 as a temple of Risshakuji, the Tendai sect.
This temple is famous as Matsuo Basho, a known poet visited this place to compose haiku.
Therefore, visitors can see a statue of Basho and an inscription of his haiku in the temple grounds.
