Following the death of Date Masamune and his last will, Zuihoden, a mausoleum was built in 1637.
The architecture style of Zuihoden was a very detailed and beautiful one known as Momoyama.
The buildings surrounding Zuihoden entomb the Date Clans.
The former Japanese Imperial Government considered this structure as a national treasure.
Please visit this extraordinary historical architecture and see the lion mask sculptures, tiles as well as dragon heads at the roof!
