INTRODUCTION

Are you a fan of beef and Japanese cuisine? Then Shabu-shabu (しゃぶしゃぶ) is something you shouldn’t miss. Shabu shabu consists of thinly sliced beef, boiled in water. It’s cooked piece by piece, often in front of the diner. But vegetarians should not feel bad. Beef can be substituted by vegetables in shabu shabu. It is served with delicious dipping sauces. Shabu shabu is mainly a savory dish but at times, chefs add sweet ingredients as well.

This mouth watering dish is cooked in a special broth and the beef should be cut as thin as possible. This gives an added taste. People at times, prefer slightly thick slice of beef or vegetables. The finer the beef or vegetable is, the expensive this dish gets.
