Japanese Cuisine you can make in a Rice Cooker

Everyone has a rice cooker. But does everyone know rice cookers can actually make a variety of food? In this article, we will introduce 3 traditional Japanese cuisines that are super easy to make!



1. Chawanmushi
Egg custard dish. Place all the ingredients used for Chawanmushi in a plate,. Cover it with a plastic wrap and place it in a rice cooker. Put some water until a scale of 1. Press “Quick-Cooking” button if available. Wait 18 minutes. Done!



2. Oyakodon
Rice bowl dish with chicken, eggs and onions. Place rice and water in the rice cooker. Put in soy sauce, chicken and onions. Turn on the switch. Place beaten egg evenly on top of the rice after the rice is cooked. Steam it for a few mins. Done!



3. NikuJaga
Sweet stew with meat, potatoes, carrots, and onions. Place the bite-sized vegetables, sliced beef and flavorings (mentsuyu, soy sauce, sugar and dried bonito) in the rice cooker and cook it. After mixing the cooked rice, cook the rice once again. Done!
